“The last man standing is a woman” – Leni Robredo
Bikolanos are proud to have Vice President-elect Leni Robredo win the race for Vice President during the 2016 elections.
On a tightly contested bout against Sen. Bongbong Marcos, the son of the late dictator, Ferdinand Marcos who until now has not yet accepted that he was defeated by Leni and is still planning to launch a protest, supporters were up on their toes and were only able to give a sigh of relief and shout in jubilation when Congress finally declared her the winner.
Leni, the widow of the late DILG secretary, Jesse Robredo came from 1% in the surveys before the start of the campaign period, then slowly won the voters heart by handwork (being the candidate with the most places visited during the campaigns) and charm, winning voters heart and imagination that Leni could beat Marcos and Escudero.
Finally, a Bicolano, a Nagueño is the new Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines!
