My recent visit to Masbate was a breathtaking experience, discovering a pristine place near Sombrero island.
We got a local guy who agreed to arrange a trip for us going to Sombrero Island for Php 2,000 per person which covers overnight stay in Pasacao, 2 breakfast, 2 lunch and 1 dinner.
We started the adventure with an overnight stay at VCS Resort, Camangi, Pasacao, Camarines Sur staying in tents by the beach instead of the cottage, which was a good start. Though you can rent out an air-conditioned cottage there for an additional charge.
By 5:00 am, we woke up to prepare for the trip and have breakfast.
At 6am we boarded the boat and started our travel through calm, blue waters for 2 hours until we reached our destination, the sand bar/island near Sombrero Island.
It was so beautiful. Nearing the island, every one of us were at awe and excited to get off the boat.
The place was past its primeval stage with cottages, electricity, clean comfort rooms – what you’d expect from a tourist destination island.
We pitched our tent beside our cottage, then swam the beautiful, crystal clear waters.
The Night Skyline was equally breath taking!
The next day, we went island hopping. We had 2 islands in our itinerary, Tinalisyaan Island and “Islang Tihaya”. They were great snorkelling sites.
By 2:00 pm we headed back to Pasacao. We were blessed to see a pool of Dolphins on our way back.
By 4:00pm we ended our great Sombrero Island Adventure. Next summer, we will explore more islands that Masbate has to offer.
