Being dubbed, “The Hottest Festival In The World” and definitively one of the hottest festivals in Bicol, KAOGMA Festival is back and is better than ever. Mark your calendars on May 23-27 and prepare for an event that will bring in attendees from all around Bicol and even visitors from across the country. Expect 5 whole days filled with fun events and celebration.
Magdayo! Maugma! Madya na sa KAOGMA!
It’s that time of the year again, the time of the hottest event during the hottest season, The Kaogma Festival. A festive celebration that welcomes everyone from all walks of life. An amazing event that draws in both locals and tourists in droves. But you may be wondering what’s in store for Kaogma 2024. Lucky for you, we know all about it! Here’s a brief rundown on what to expect at the event.

MAY 23
The first day of the festival already features an explosive main event where your favorite musicians will be performing on the event’s opening night. Powerhouses such as James Reid, Yassi Presssman, Flow G, and Skusta Clee will be gracing the stage with their presence and outstanding talent.
With the main event set to be held later in the evening, you’ll probably want to get to the venue a bit early. Otherwise, expect to have to squeeze through the huge crowd that is expected to flock to the venue.
MAY 24
The second day of the 2024 Kaogma Festival is jam-packed with events, ranging from smaller activities or palaro’s in the morning to an exciting mud race, a 3-on-3 basketball event in the afternoon to another music fest later on through the night (courtesy of local bands: Tothapi, Overheat, and Kunyan), and culminating into the day’s main event, Miss Kaogma 2024.
Mud Race
The Mud Race will have three different categories for participants. Firstly, the couple’s category where a partner has to carry their significant other. The second category is for a family relay race. And the last category is for the single men and women.
3-on-3 Basketball
Happening in the afternoon, the fan favorite basketball event is making an exciting return. The CamSur 3-on-3 is finally making a comeback and the competition is open for all enthusiasts within CamSur. Expect heated matches between the many participating teams at the new Kafuerte Modern Basketball Hoop Cage.
Sunset Party
If basketball isn’t your style then perhaps you’d prefer something more festive. Enjoy the setting sun by partying through Kaogma 2024’s Sunset Party, happening at the Capitol Grounds in Cadlan, Pili, Camarines Sur. Bringing in amazing Filipino music courtesy of some of your favorite local indie bands: Tothapi, Overheat, and Kunyan.
Miss Kaogma
Right after the Sunset Party comes of the main events, the highly anticipated Miss Kaogma 2024! A special event where many Bicolanas aspiring to become beauty queens will be able to showcase their looks and talents. Hosted by a star-studded lineup of popular celebrities, Marco Gumabao, Nicole Cordoves, along with a special guest, the one and only Enrique Gil. Judging the competition are massive personalities in the modeling industry that have strutted various walkways, Christine Reyes, Bea Gomez, and Maureen Montagne.
May 24 Music Fest
But the fun doesn’t end there as Bicol’s very own Ely Buendia from the all time popular band Eraserheads, will be making his return to perform just right after Miss Kaogma 2024. Joining him are special guests, KZ Tandingan, Rob Daniel, and MC Einstein.
MAY 25
If you think that’s a lot already well, the event organizers are just getting started because the event just keeps ramping up starting the 3rd day.
Boy Kayod
Starting off early in the morning at 6AM, the Boy Kayod event, a Philippine Grassroots Triathlon Competition. It is a special triathlon that is unique to the province of Camarines Sur and Kaogma Festival. The event will be held at the Lago Del Ray having three (3) participants per team undergo three (3) phases of the race. The first phase is the Sagwan Banca, a 2 kilometer boat paddling race. The second phase is the Padyak Tri-bike, a 3 kilometer padyak pedaling race. And lastly, the Takbo Buhat race, a 1.5 kilometer run.
Airsoft Competition
The 1st Gov. Luigi Villafuerte Cup 2024, the PSMOC Airsoft Sports Level III Classifier Match will be held at the Lago Del Ray starting at 8am in the morning. So don’t miss your shot to spectate or participate in yet another first for the Kaogma Festival.
Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC)
Yet another first for the Koagma Festival. The Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) is bringing the ultimate mixed martial arts showdown right at the center of the Kaogma Festival. Witness a group of fierce fighters go head to head in the octagon all while leading up to the main event of the fight between the Philippines’ Eros Baluyot vs South Korea’s Kim Kyung Jung. The event will be held in the Fuerte Complex starting at 3pm in the afternoon.
Battle of the Bands
While the Music Fest is undoubtedly one of the main reasons for attending the Kaogma Festival, our local aspiring bands wouldn’t want to fall behind in the festivities. With that, witness the top 10 Finalists for the Kaogma Festival’s Battle of the Bands featuring 10 aspiring musicians which will be held at around 5pm at the Capitol Grounds.
May 25 Music Fest
The night ends with yet another music fest. This time from various extremely popular active OPM artists, 6cyclemind, Juan Karlos, Zild, Nik Makino, Juan x Kyle, and Fred Engay.
May 26
While the previous days were jam packed with events, the 4th day starts the mellowing out which will give you the opportunity to enjoy the scenery, explore the booths, or maybe stalk your favorite local celebrity. Although there are still a few notable events that you shouldn’t miss out on.
Tour De Kaogma
Starting off at 5am in the morning is the Tour De Kaogma, a cycling marathon competition. It will run from CWC/Capitol Compound to Tinawagan Hills via Hanawan-San Ramon, Iriga-Baao Road and climb to Tinawagan Hills via Agdangan Road and back to CWC via National Highway.
Dance Revolution
Witness 10 of Bicol’s best dance troupes as they light up the stage with their performances. Don’t miss out on seeing which finalist will finally take home the gold and be proclaimed as the absolute best in the local sphere of dancing. Bare witness to their skills and talent, 5pm at the Capitol Grounds.
May 26 Music Fest
And of course, the night wouldn’t be the same without it ending with yet another Music Fest. This time featuring OPM artists that can serenade you to love, get you to break the status quo, or just to make you laugh. Don’t miss out on the popular artist lineup of: Apo Hiking Society, Adie, Gloc-9, Mayonnaise, The Itchyworms, Jeff Grecia, and Chocolate Factory.
May 27 – 28
The last two days of the Festival can be considered as a festive rest day. While the events start coming to a close the festivities will remain giving you ample time to enjoy anything non-event related that you’ve missed. Wanna get back to that food stall that had way too long of a line yesterday? Wanna visit some places locals recommended to you? Wanna sleep all day in your hotel room without a care in the world? you do you. However, there are still some notable events that you might be interested in.
The Big V
The Big V is a local singing competition happening in the Kaogma Festival where the top 10 finalists from the audition stages will finally go head to head in order to determine which singer has the biggest voice. The event is set on May 27 at around 6:30pm at the Capitol Grounds.
May 27 Music Fest
The final Music Fest for the event but still features some well known Filipino artists. Don’t miss out on Rico Blanco, Al James, Cup of Joe, and This Band.
Worship Fest
And the final event of the festival, happening on the last day is the Worship Fest. Bring the whole family and experience the joy of worshipping together in one spirit. Sing, dance, and worship the Lord. Happening on May 28 at around 4pm at the Capitol Grounds.
